    About Fentanyl

What do you know about fentanyl? It is pretty widely used both in medical field and non-medical, but not as much “advertized” as other analgesics. It works on the brain receptors for opioids that create a general sense of euphoria. Fentanyl is much more potent than morphine and injection of the right amount gives almost instant unconsciousness. Apart from injections this anesthetic is available in patches and lozenges. Besides a pure substance, fentanyl is used to create popular “designer drugs.” Back in 1979 an analog of fentanyl called “China White” appeared in California and gained immediate attention due to both its potency and potential threat.  The so-called “designer drugs” are more popular in the non-medical field of use since it is invented so that the effects do not wear off as fast as in the standard, original substance. Another derivative of fentanyl is called 3-methylfentanyl, besides this one there is about ten others and all of them are just as strong as “China White” but mainly used as an “addition” to other drugs.

We have discussed earlier certain types of opiates that cannot be detected in the urine sample by a standard drug test. It is the same with the fentanyl – even regular opiate screening cannot pick up on that, or on its derivative designer drug. In most cases fentanyl and its variations are ingested in combination with something else – morphine or cocaine – so a positive test result on those substances would be enough to fail a test. So if you have used this substance (fentanyl only) and are facing a drug test – you will pass it as long as they not looking specifically for the fentanyl.
