This is a true story – it happened to one of our customer and he requested that it would be known so that nobody else repeats his mistake.

He had a urine test coming up at his work and was completely ready for it – being a frequent marijuana smoker and a heavier individual, the customer purchased a bottle of synthetic urine and was going to use that on his test day like he did many times before. However, at the very last moment he realized that this test is going to be an observed procedure since there was a “reasonable suspicion” regarding his work performance. Our customer started to contemplate on what else he could do about the test, but didn’t put too much effort into it and decided to go with the synthetic, as he planned. Everything went according to the plan, he was able to use the chosen product, but – being indecisive, he didn’t time himself correctly and the urine was too cold, so he was asked for another sample – right away. He was given a bottle of water and was being watched even closely since. So, of course the second sample was of the right temperature, but tested positive on the drug screening.

The moral of the story is – most observed tests are not really observed very well and you can get away with using the product of your choice. But! Keep in mind that you have to allow yourself enough time to prepare for the test – if there is no access to a microwave, it can take up to an hour for the synthetic urine to be warmed up solely by the heat pad.
