Our Premium Detox 7 Day Comprehensive Cleansing Program contains the ingredient Magnesium Stearate.  Magnesium Stearate is commonly found in many vitamins and dietary supplements.  It is a combination of magnesium salts and stearic acid, which is a saturated fat that can be found in many foods such as fish, meat, poultry, eggs, butter, milk, grains, and coconut. Magnesium is an essential mineral for your body for the efficient production of enzymes, metabolism of carbohydrates, converting blood sugar into energy, proper insulin production and the relaxation of muscles, including the heart muscle.

Magnesium stearate is added to many vitamins and supplements because it lubricates the elements in the vitamin supplements and keeps them from sticking to the processing equipment and clumping together during the production process.  Without magnesium stearate the proper proportions of each ingredient in the supplements would be skewed if some of them were stuck to the equipment during processing thus throwing off the quantities of each ingredient for the supplement. It is the most commonly used lubricant for the production of most tablets.

Also found in baby formula, magnesium stearate is also used in hard candies to bind the sugar together.  It is also used in syrups, ketchup, and sauces as an emulsifier.
