Smoking Pot versus Vaporizing Pros and Cons

To smoke or not to smoke, that is the question.  If you like to smoke pot but hate the hacking cough that usually accompanies the act of smoking then there is an alternative.  It is called vaporizing.  For people who smoke pot it is usually not the act of smoking that is the attraction but more so the delivery of the THC that is most important.

Delta 9 – Tetrahydocannabinol is the scientific name for THC and that is the main ingredient in marijuana that delivers the high when you use marijuana.  It is also the metabolite from this substance that the labs look for when you take a urine tests, hair tests or saliva tests.

Smoking marijuana involves the combustion of the marijuana at about 230 degrees Celsius while vaporizing involves heating the marijuana up to a temperature between 180 degrees Celsius and 200 degrees Celsius.  No combustion occurs during the vaporizing process so no harmful toxins are released as they are with smoking the marijuana.  Vaporizing is a better alternative to smoking marijuana if one wants to avoid the respiratory irritation that comes with inhaling hot smoke.  Vaporizing allows the user to consume the same amount if not more of the THC because during combustion some of the psychoactive ingredients are destroyed.  This means that by vaporizing the user is receiving more THC and hence will have more metabolites in their system than someone who smokes the marijuana.
