Sweat Test
Recently we’ve been getting inquiries from our customers about sweat testing, so we decided to post some information here.
Sweat test (or Spray test) is comparatively rare type of drug testing and performed mostly for legal reasons: probation, child custody, etc. The test is executed by applying a sweat patch to the body (usually upper arm) for 10-14 days. The patch is very similar to a band-aid; however, every patch is secured and cannot be removed or re-applied. The patch detects presence of drug metabolites that are excreted through perspiration. At the end of the test the patch is removed by a social worker or parole officer and then sent to a lab for analysis.
Although this testing method is very rare and considered to be one of the most intrusive ones – the patch is required to be worn for several days – there is controversial issue of accuracy of this type of test. Before application the skin is cleaned with isopropyl alcohol rub, but some scientist believe that it does not eliminate the possibility of external contamination (if there was a residue of a drug directly on the skin) and that can lead to a false positive results. Also, patches are applied and removed by non-medical personnel, and sloppiness during the procedure can result in false positives. False positives results can lead to serious consequences for tested people – sometimes including imprisonment or loss of child custody.
When tested at the lab, they first do a basic screening; if positive results are acquired another, more precise test is performed – GC/MS test (gas chromatography / mass spectrometry)
The residues of the following drugs can be detected in human sweat:
Alcohol,
Amphetamine,
Cocaine,
Heroin,
Marijuana (THC),
Morphine,
Methadone,
Methamphetamine,
Phencyclidine (PCP).In order to pass a sweat test you need to clean your body from inside, simple masking agents will not help. For total body purification consider alternative detoxifying products and permanent cleansers like Premium Detox 7 Day Comprehensive Cleansing Program.
