The basic thing that you should know before going in for a drug testing is, what all do they look for while doing a drug test. If you know these basics, then you would be able to figure out the various workarounds. The kind of test that would be done would depend on various different factors, such as the testign company, expectations, federal requirements, and the likes. Generally, per the guidelines laid down by NIDA (The National Institute on Drug Abuse) and SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration), the Federal governemnt would primarily do a drug test on a candidate for detecting any of the following five substances in the system of the individual. Those 5 substances would be, cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and phencyclidine. SOme of the drug testing companies would like to go in for an expanded test. An expanded test would include the testing of the following substances, MDMA, methadone, propoxyphene, ethanol, benzodiazepines, methaqualone, hydrocodone, barbiturates. To test the presence of any of these drugs in your system, there are five major test types, such as urine test, saliva test, hair test, blood test, sweat or patch test.
Having known about the basic drugs that you could be tested for, and the kinds of tests that could be conducted, please be aware of the fact that there is no magical formual to pass or cheat in a drug test. The best option is not to do drugs at all, and you would come out clean from a test. However, if you are already doing drugs, then there are a few options which you could explore to pass a drug test. At least 48 hours before your test schedule, avoid doing any sort of drugs. Drink 6 glasses of water on a regular basis. However, be careful of not drinking too much water, as that would invite you to appear for the test once again. Do a lot of physical exercise for at least 7 days prior to your test. Aerobics in particualr helps increase the metabolism of your body, thereby making your body detoxify faster. Be active, take the stairs to work, take your dog out for an extra work, and get involved in other such physical activities. Go in for a healthy diet a week before your test is scheduled. However, consume light meals the day prior to your test.
