We receive a lot of calls from nervous people who are about to take their drug test and just want to know if there is anything they can do now that will better the opportunity to pass the impending drug test. Some have asked us some pretty silly or even scary questions about at home remedies.

Caller: Hello, I’m taking a pre-employment drug testing later today. I smoke a little weed every now and then. A friend of mine said all I had to do is add some vinegar or Visine to my urine sample to pass.

MB Detox: Adding vinegar to your sample will not help you to test negative. This common myth only lowers the pH in the sample and should only be used when diluting your urine. This method is not recommended because if you are lucky and lower the pH enough to produce a negative, there’s a chance that the pH itself will also be tested.

Caller: so what about using Visine? Do you think that’ll work?

MB Detox: Sorry, Visine does not work either. We know for a fact that labs tested Visine, and concluded that Visine does work as a false negative for the EMIT (dip stick) drug test. However, it can be detected due to inability of the sample to foam.

Caller: So what do you suggest?
