  Earlier last week a customer called and he was genuinely concerned about an approaching drug test. So we talked for a little while and weighed out his options. We discussed detox drinks, pills, kits with drinks and pills, synthetic urines, shampoos, and even mouth washes just to be on the safe side.

  After the amazement wore off about all of the products out on the market we decided the fast kit for $55.99 would work great for him. He proceeded to tell me how he exercises on a regular basis and frequents saunas which in his case were good he was a pretty heavy smoker. So we reviewed the directions together before he purchased.

  So, yesterday I get a call and the gentleman asked for me personally. He asked what would happen if there was blood submitted. I then explained that the product he purchased was not for blood it was for urine only. He became panicked and asked how to get his money back. He said he didn’t fail his test that he knew of but wanted top be prepared incase he did. So, he began to tell me that when he submitted his urine sample he noticed his sample had a pinkish tint in it.

  Then he explained about 2 days before he noticed it but didn’t think anything of it and ended up taking a trip to the ER 2 days after the test to find out he had a pretty nasty Urinary tract infection which was being caused by dehydration and the sauna.

  Needless to say he had an inconclusive test result because of the UTI. They asked him to come back in to submit another sample after he purchased another kit to submit a clean sample. Now keep in mind usually documented paperwork will allow a “get out of jail” free card when giving an “inconclusive” test result. However, this is not always the case there have been documented tests that have not been retested, lost there jobs, or been turned away from employment.

  What do you expect of a drug test? Go in, go out, bing-bam-boom. People do it every day, so it does not appear to be such a big deal. However, nothing can be more humiliating when you are being watched while going to the bathroom. Yes, that’s right – watched! Mandatory Federal Guidelines requires a direct observation while providing a sample! But don’t worry, this is only is your first sample was too hot or too cold – a sample outside the normal temperature range usually causes immediate suspicion.

  Chain of custody form that you fill out will state if the test is supervised. Indirect observation is pretty normal – that is: you are not being watched, but searched before going into a “dedicated bathroom.” This is a special room where all the water is shut off so you cannot dilute your sample with it. You will be asked to leave your purse, coat, jacket, etc. outside, and sometimes they can ask you to leave a door cracked open. They won’t peek in – it is just as humiliating for lab workers as it is for you, so don’t be angry if they just doing their job by following Federal Guidelines – but if some strange sounds will be heard coming out of the bathroom – you might be asked to do a re-test.

  Observed tests are very rare, but they do happen. If you planning on altering test results in any way, make sure you inquire first on the test guidelines you are going to be following, this way it is no surprise for you and you get the results you need.

• Medical vs. Workplace drug testing

  When it comes to workplace drug testing the prospect employee has access to the policy and procedures of drug testing and the outcome of what happens with a failed drug test. Almost all of the sates have policy if you have a positive result for a drug test then your employment will be terminated or you will not get the job. This is why employers have these policies written in black and white for there protection. Also there is a Federal Chain of Custody form that needs to be signed by all parties who handle the specimen.

  When you are offered employment the company informs you either on the application, through a form, or in person that a drug test is required. If you have used in the past or are currently using now is the time to stop and attempt to detox your body from any and all toxins. You are given time to plan your test weather it be 24 hours or whenever it is convenient for you.   Now when it comes to Medical Testing this is a whole different story. Medical testing could mean anything. The only thing you need to know is Medical Testing is used for Medical Purposes ONLY. So the next time you go to a physician and your having a problem and there is a possibility you may need to submit blood, urine, hair, saliva then you should probably jump on a detox product right away.

  There is a great variety of detox products here, but how to find out how exactly is it going to happen? What if you have never had a drug test before and completely clueless what is the procedure?
  - Hi there, I have a test coming up, and I was wondering if you would be able to help me?
  - Sure! What kind of test is it?
  - It is a pre-employment test and I think they will be testing my urine. I’ve been clean for a while, but not sure if I can pass it on my own – I got a home tester and it showed positive last night. And another thing is – I never had to pass a drug test before, so can you tell me little bit more about the whole procedure, please?
  - Absolutely. First, you would need to fill out some paperwork – such as consent from and a disclosure form. Fist one allows the lab to test your sample, second one should list all the medication you are currently taking. Make sure to include everything you can think of, prescribed and over-the-counter ones – sometimes a sample tests positive, and you need to make sure you have something to argue a false positive reading; in this case, a list of medication that might have triggered it will come in handy.
  - Ok, I will definitely do that. And then what? They give me a cup to pee in?
  - Pretty much. There will be a technician to walk your through everything they wants from you.
  - Ok, what happens if I cannot pee when they ask me to?
  - That does happen to some people; it’s called a “shy bladder” syndrome – when you cannot go to the bathroom when someone else is present, or by request. In that case they will give you a glass of water every 30 minutes, and if you still can’t – they’ll increase the water amounts.
  - What if I still can’t?
  - If you cannot provide a good enough sample, they might report you as “refused” to your employer.
  - Oh, I guess, I better try hard, right?
  - Well, that much water will make you go, don’t worry.

• School’s testing teens…beat them at there own game

  I was reading up on an article today about Schools being allowed to monitor and drug test teens.

  Wait a minute these teens are under the age of 18 and require a “neutral adult” to stand guard as they submit a urine sample? Meaning and it is written in the transcript “A neutral adult must standby and witness the subject urinate in the specimen cup”. A little invasive don’t you think?

  So for the mean time more and more schools are testing their pupils for drugs and alcohol, which is illegal to consume if you are in fact a minor. I have also been getting a ton of calls from parents who do know of there children using and are trying to help them get into the schools.

  If you found yourself in this position jump on a detox product as soon as possible and begin the detox process right away.   According to the CEDIA a urine test can some up positive for Amphetamines if you are using weight loss or energy dietary supplements.  Since the FDA has banned Ephedrine in all supplements in the US scientists have figured that Bitter Orange has the same effects but is non addictive or habit forming.

  However, there have been no real safety tests done with Bitter Orange when it comes to a stimulant. Studies have shown Bitter Orange has been linked to Angina, Strokes and other major health related concerns.

A urine drug test requires an absolutely clean sample so you can pass and move on to the more important stuff – like working at your new or old job, instead of taking stupid tests. The test is in few days and you decided to drink plenty of water to hide all that you’ve been taking for the last week. Will it work?

  70% of human body is comprised of water – you can go without food for days, but without water one can hardly survive a day. Water shortage of only few cups will cause the blood flow to slow down, so your body will not get the nutrients as fast as usual, and as a result the toxicity of the body will increase.   I read up on a website that is taking action against local, state, and governmental regulations on DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) testing. Scientist have shown that testing for toxins immediately after someone is pulled over for being suspected of driving while under the influence of a drug or narcotic may be insufficient and non municipal in court.

  The reason for this is you can have something in your system for days and they may detect that instead of what you are “suspected” of being on at the present time. Now for you medical marijuana users out there this is not very fair is it?

  Now for alcohol testing, you run into an issue because the hospital or police department tests the sample the information is recorded for legal reasons. Following that the urine is sent to a state accredited lab to test again for more formal and more legal reasons. This information is then presented in front of the judge who is determining if you should be found guilty or not.

  Recent studies show that between the police department or hospital and the lab it is then sent to the UAC (Urine Alcohol Content) in the urine was at a different percentage. For example XXX Hospital tested John Doe his UAC showed .08 “over the legal limit” and then results from the lab it was sent to show .06. Now where is the fairness in that?
