Half-Life on medications
Half-Life simply put is the life span of a medication that you take and how long it takes to reduce the toxin in half in your blood and body.
For example: Oxycontin has a “Half-Life” of 2-5 days from 1 40mg-80mg tablet. Which means 2-5 days from taking 1 40mg-80mg of Oxycontin the amount of toxin will be cut in half leaving you with urine that is clean enough to test clean on a urine test.
Now this example of a “half life” does not work for all toxins. Another example would be EssayswebBased Marijuana/THC. The half life for THC is much longer then prescription drugs. Reason being is THC clings to the internal organs longer because it has a longer life. Marijuana/THC typically remains detectable anywhere from 14 days to 30+ days in the urine. This is just the half life of THC. If blood was tested at 20-30 days after smoking THC it will still be detected in the blood and not urine because the half life of urine has already expired.

Prozac is a complicated toxin that has a normal half life of 1-6 days. However, 4-16 days for the metabolite to be cut into half and clear your system. When it comes to any kind of medication/toxins and a urine test your best bet is to use one of the fast kits that best resemble the class of medication i.e. opiates, codeines, morphine, amphetamines, etc. If the fast kits do not fit your needs then try a 7-day program, synthetic urine, or even just a drink.
