  • Taxing Illegal Drugs

Posted on January 7th, 2010 How to pass

It is common knowledge that to sell or buy drugs is illegal. However, not too many people know that in the state of Alabama taxes the sale of illegal drugs. This does not mean that drug dealers actually followed that law. State revenue officials say that since 1988 – when the law was put in action – they generated almost no income at all.

There is some form of tax stamp issued on the sale of illegal drugs, that were created in Alabama in 1988, and it functions as an excise tax, similar to the levies obligatory for cigarette sales. Currently, a stamp for a gram of marijuana is $3.50; for a gram of a controlled substance, such as cocaine, is $200. The money is to be collected after the dealers are arrested. Anyone caught with large quantities of drugs but no stamps would not only face jail time, but prosecution for tax avoidance.

Some people found it absurd – the requirement to buy tax stamps for an illegal product, – and therefore a costly opposition was fighting the challenges.

However, the Revenue Department of Alabama continues to sell the stamps. Judging by the quantities sold, one can say that people would buy something like that out of curiosity rather than out of need.

This taxing law did not help to prevent or lower drug-related crime rate.

  • News from customers

Posted on January 6th, 2010 How to pass

Sometimes customers call us… just to call us. What I mean is that sometimes they will call and start talking about things that are totally off topic, without any questions, just their expression.

One time a customer called and started telling me about how border police found over 10,000 pounds of opium and heroin in Afghanistan.

He said: “Damn that’s a lot of heroin! You know… I bet a lot of people would be extremely happy to find that. Not me though, I’m more of a pot smoker. I just smoke pot… And… I just thought this was cool! How could Afghanistan have gotten so much opium? WOW.”

I was speechless. It is interesting to know what’s going on in the world, but a customer calling and telling me news was just plain strange.

So he kept continuing: “Oh… and I forgot, they also found weapons and materials to make explosives. You never know what they could have wanted to do with those explosives.”

“Yes, Sir it is very good that they found all that stuff. What can I do for you? Do you have any questions?”
“No, I just wanted to share this piece of information with you. Have a good day.”

  • Extra cash for Christmas

Posted on January 5th, 2010 How to pass

There are many ways to earn Christmas money – get another job, start saving right after summer, and so on, but for one witty gentleman – selling marijuana was the job of choice.
Trinidad and Tobago resident got arrested with approximately a quarter of a million dollars worth of marijuana. When asked what is his intention for such an amount of illegal drugs, he frankly answered that he needed some extra cash for Christmas. 49-year-old man did not have a lawyer at the time, but the judge stopped him from speaking any further.
After searching his apartment, the police found 26.5 kilograms of pot in black plastic bags in his bedroom. The man was arrested on Dec 31 of last year, so perhaps he finished his “shopping” by then. Of course, it is a good intention – to be able to afford some nice Christmas gifts, but to go that far… not too many people would be that courageous.

  • Just an online store

Posted on January 4th, 2010 How to pass

We are an online store who works with different manufactures. We picked the products that we feel work the best from each manufacturer and put them on our website to satisfy our customer’s demand. Sometimes customers think we are the manufacturer or a part of a completely different store chain and when we tell them that we are our own store they think we are deceiving to them.

Some customers call and think we owe them something because they purchased a product that’s not even ours.

Not to long ago, I had a woman call me:

MB Detox, How can I help you?”

“Hi, do you have any store locations or can you tell me where I can buy your products?”

“I’m sorry but we are an online store only, we are not the manufacture and we do not have any store locations.”

“Yea, but I’m sure you know where I can find these products.”

“Again, I’m sorry but we do not have that information. We are not affiliated with ANY stores. Sorry. ”

A couple days later the same woman calls back:

MB Detox, How can I help you?”

“I bought your product but I don’t know how to use it.”

“Well, all of our products come with complete directions.”

“This is the phone number on the bottle of this drink that I bought, so you need to tell me how to use your product.”

    She kept screaming at me.

“Ma’am we are just an online store, we are not the manufacturer, and we do not have that exact product, so I really do not want to give you any misleading information.”

“Then why is your number on the back of the bottle? And when I type in the name of the product, your website comes up?”

She probably thought if she Googled this product she would reach the manufacturer, but what she did not know is that when you search for this product it gives you a list of stores that carry it.

“So you didn’t get the number from the bottle? You got the number from the website and assumed we are the manufacturer?”

She kept saying our number was on the bottle, but we know for a fact it is not. I kept telling her the same thing over and over again.

    Finally she said:

“Okay, can you just please tell me how to use this product?”

I gave her general information on the product, but could not be too specific since we do not have this product. I also have her the number to the actual manufacturer of the product she had purchased.

These kind of things happen on a daily basis and customer sometimes just do not want to realize that we are simply an online store.

  • 225 lbs of marijuana

Posted on December 30th, 2009 How to pass

Seven hundred fifty thousand (750,000) dollars worth of marijuana was confiscated by police in Oregon. Three people were arrested a week after an undercover police officer purchased 65 pounds of pot. Overall police confiscated over 225 lbs of marijuana, which believed to be connected to Oregon Medical Marijuana Program.

In December of current year, an undercover police officer bought 65 pounds of marijuana in a restaurant parking lot in Oregon. Both people involved were arrested and that purchase led to three searches in Josephine and Jackson counties. According to police, all three locations are associated with the Oregon Medical Marijuana Program.

At the first location approximately 11 lbs of marijuana were acquired and one person was arrested. At the second location police detained approximately 131 lbs of marijuana and three firearms; one more person was arrested. Shortly after that arrest, another search in the same county led to discovering a “sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation.” About 20 lbs of wrapper pot and 48 grown plants were seized, six firearms detained and one more person arrested.

Investigators connect all the activity and above-mentioned arrests to Oregon Medical Marijuana Program.

  • Parents, teens and music

Posted on December 29th, 2009 How to pass

How do we find what’s good in life? Kids do not usually refer to their parents’ opinions to know right from wrong.

I got a call from a very worried mother whose son was about to be drug tested – he was involved in some kind of sport activity at his school. The mother had double feelings about the whole situation:

    -         I love my son, he is such a good boy, never misbehaves, but I have a reason to doubt him passing a drug test. What do I do? I think he smokes pot, but he will never admit it to me! He locks his room, puts the music really loud and I think I can smell pot from underneath the door.

    -         When is his test? And what type of test is it?

    -         I think the test is in two weeks, I’m not sure. He needs to pass a urine test. I will get anything that we need to pass! Please!

    -         Ma’am, you need to talk with your son and get everything out in the open first. How can you make him take a product if you’re not even sure if he’s using anything?

    -         Oh, I will make him! This is very important and he is in no position to miss out on an opportunity like this! I assure you, I will make him do anything I tell him to do!

I gave her a recommendation that will work for a basic urine test and left the convincing the young man to stop smoking before his test to the mother.

Not kids, but young adults are more influenced by pop culture rather than their parents and their values. According to a recent study conducted among a thousand ninth-graders, teens listen to 3.1 hours of music with 40 marijuana references. A correlation whether songs with drug references compel teens to drug use or if users are drawn to such music is not established, but we can clearly see that drugs, marijuana in particular, becomes a part of life pretty early.

  • Legalization of marijuana in California

Posted on December 28th, 2009 How to pass

November ballot had enough votes backing marijuana legalization in California. Even people who do not smoke are pro legalization; for example, retired Orange County Judge Jim Gray is also “saying Yes to pot.” As a legislative worker, judge Gray sees no point in spending so many resources, including money, on dealing with marijuana-related crimes, but rather concentrating on putting all the force into other areas.
According to a recent poll, 56% of California residents are pro marijuana legalization. It is actually just about legal already – just consider the number of doctors that recommend marijuana use for various medical purposes! So, like dealing with alcohol, all that’s needed – a regulated control. This will not only lower the crime rate, but also will increase state’s revenue obtained through taxes.
Judge Gray is not a smoker, but has advocated for a long period of time a better use of the resources that are being “wasted” on investigation, prosecution and incarceration. Gray has been asked to be a spokesman for the initiative, and he will be debating L.A. County District Attorney Steve Cooley on various marijuana matters January 19 at the California Club.
Cities and counties could permit the gardening and retail of marijuana and tax it under the initiative, which would also make it legal for anyone over 21 to possess an ounce and grow pot for private use. It is estimated that about $1.3 billion in tax revenue could be raised each year within the state.

  • “Mix-Up”

Posted on December 24th, 2009 How to pass

Customers love to call and tell us about what they did to pass a drug test, and even little bit of their own life story. Not that long ago I had a call from a female who asked me about a certain pill for urinary tract infection and if it would help her pass a urine test. I replied that I do not think it is possible to pass at all with any kind of over the counter medication.

    A couple weeks later:

“Hey, umm… is it safe for males to take urinary tract infection pills, and will they help me pass a urine test?”

“Well sir, we would not recommend taking it.”

“But, what if I all ready did take it?”

    “Did everything turn out ok?”

“No, I felt like the biggest idiot asking the lady at the pharmacy for urinary tract medicine. She asked me what it was for and I told her I needed to take it for a personal reason. Wow, what a skeptical look I got from her. I didn’t just simply say: “Oh, it is for my wife.” No, I told her it was for me, and I felt embarrassed.”

“Ok, but are u physically ok?”

“No, not only did I get embarrassed at the pharmacy, when I went to take the urine test; I peed in the cup and my urine was orange. I mean like a neon orange color. The lady at the clinic asked me what is wrong with my urine. I did not want to tell her I took them to pass a drug test, so I told her my wife accidentally switched up my and her medication in the morning.”

    To me this was hilarious!!

“She told me that because of my “mix-up” she would let me retake the test. That was the only good thing. All day I felt so stupid and embarrassed. It was horrible.”

    “Sir, are u physically ok?”

    “Yes”

“Well, next time you go take your test, go on our website and research some of our products. I am sure you will have much better luck.”

He said, “Ok, Thank you for listening to me. Bye.”

  • Sweat Test

Posted on December 23rd, 2009 How to pass

Recently we’ve been getting inquiries from our customers about sweat testing, so we decided to post some information here.

Sweat test (or Spray test) is comparatively rare type of drug testing and performed mostly for legal reasons: probation, child custody, etc. The test is executed by applying a sweat patch to the body (usually upper arm) for 10-14 days. The patch is very similar to a band-aid; however, every patch is secured and cannot be removed or re-applied. The patch detects presence of drug metabolites that are excreted through perspiration. At the end of the test the patch is removed by a social worker or parole officer and then sent to a lab for analysis.

Although this testing method is very rare and considered to be one of the most intrusive ones – the patch is required to be worn for several days – there is controversial issue of accuracy of this type of test. Before application the skin is cleaned with isopropyl alcohol rub, but some scientist believe that it does not eliminate the possibility of external contamination (if there was a residue of a drug directly on the skin) and that can lead to a false positive results. Also, patches are applied and removed by non-medical personnel, and sloppiness during the procedure can result in false positives. False positives results can lead to serious consequences for tested people – sometimes including imprisonment or loss of child custody.

When tested at the lab, they first do a basic screening; if positive results are acquired another, more precise test is performed – GC/MS test (gas chromatography / mass spectrometry)
The residues of the following drugs can be detected in human sweat:
    Alcohol,
    Amphetamine,
    Cocaine,
    Heroin,
    Marijuana (THC),
    Morphine,
    Methadone,
    Methamphetamine,
    Phencyclidine (PCP).

In order to pass a sweat test you need to clean your body from inside, simple masking agents will not help. For total body purification consider alternative detoxifying products and permanent cleansers like Premium Detox 7 Day Comprehensive Cleansing Program.

  • Coca Leaves

Posted on December 22nd, 2009 How to pass

Traditional medicine in Bolivia involves a wide use of coca leaves. This plant is valued because of the high content of different alkaloids in it (including cocaine.) Usually, the leaves are used in a form of a chew or tea (“mate de coca”.) When chewed, they produce pleasurable numbness in mouth and have a pleasant pungent taste; sometimes they are chewed with lime to increase the release of active ingredients from the leaf.
Bolivian laws permit to cultivate 29,640 acres of coca plants every year, and now the President Evo Morales is planning to allow farmers to grow small coca plants for private use. Every field can be as big as 130×130 feet.
Bolivia takes a third place in cultivation coca plants in the world. First and second places go to Colombia and Peru respectfully.
Coca leaf is the key ingredient of cocaine. Increasing coca cultivation may increase cocaine trafficking in the country. In the past year 26.6 tons of cocaine were confiscated and sixteen drug laboratories were destroyed in Bolivia. Evo Morales, being a leader of a coca growers association, is also concerned about local authorities cracking down on large-scale cocaine trafficking, but feels that this correction to the law will not effect the potential capacity of cocaine production in the country.
