Do they test for Xanax?
One of our customers had a question – if they checked for xanax in a drug test for a medical office job.
- I’m going to be an x-ray machine operator, and I already got my license but did not have a drug test yet. Actually, I’m not even sure if it’s going to be urine test or saliva test…
In such cases they do a standard panel test and only check urine for: Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Amphetamines, Phencyclidine (PCP), and Barbiturates. Xanax is a Benzodiazepine and does not fall under any of those categories, so it was safe for him to go for his test. However, the conversation went on – apparently, he used to smoke marijuana on a regular day basis up until a month ago, but then he had to quit. That’s when he started having trouble sleeping and xanax became another “must-have” in his life. Of course, the follow up question:
– How long ago did you stop smoking?
Turns out he’s been clean only for a couple weeks, and for some reason wasn’t aware that THC can stay in the body for over a month if a person was a frequent user. As in any other case, the first thing we suggest – get a home test and make sure you can pass on your own. If not – there is a wide selection of detox products that will help you pass a urine drug test.
