Passing an Army Drug Test

The hair drug test is the most accurate of all the drug tests and can trace the drug consumption habits for the greatest duration in comparison to other drug tests. It is also the most expensive. Drug residues accumulate in body fluids and other parts of the body. These include urine, blood, saliva, sweat and hair. The absence, or presence below the limit, means a negative test. Human hair consists of three concentric layers. Drug residues accumulate in the middle layer of hair. This is why these residues are more difficult to conceal and this is the reason for this test being so accurate. In the hair drug test, a strand of hair is extracted from any part of the body. The outer concentric layer is dissolved and the middle layer – the cuticle – is examined for the presence of drug traces.

To pass drug test is therefore tougher than other tests. Detox shampoos and conditioners need to be used for this purpose. These shampoos open up the outer layer of the hair. The masking agents in the shampoo then form a film over the cuticle. This sealant / masking agent does not dissolve in any lab solvent. The conditioner restores the appearance, which will be disturbed following the opening up of the outer layer. Because the cuticle is sealed, the hair drug test will not be able to detect the drug residues accumulated inside it.
