THC is one of the major ingredients of marijuana. A marijuana drug test is the analysis of urine, blood, hair and saliva to determine the presence of THC in the body of an addict. In case of a blood test, the positive result can be obtained within a few hours of marijuana use. Regular users may get a positive result even after a day or two. Metabolites can be detected in saliva for 12 to 14 hours to a maximum time period of 3 days after the intake of marijuana. It is one of the most convenient THC drug testing since it is quick and cheaper too. One cannot cheat a saliva test because the specimens are obtained under supervision.

Hair test are the most reliable methods and can detect long term drug use even after months of intake. THC gets passes through the scalp and gets deposited in the hair shafts. Also a small sample of hair from any part of the body can detect the drug.
