College drug testing policies
The college drug testing policies prohibits any form of on-campus use or possession of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or alcoholic beverage by students, which is in straight abuse of local, state, and federal commandment.
Colleges gives backup to the perception of a Drug Free Workplace and ban the illegal production, allocation, ownership, or exercise of a forbidden stuff on any land personal, rented or controlled by the college or during any activity performed, supported, official by or on behalf of College.
Ethics of college drug testing policies: Students found to be concerned in any of these activities are subject to disciplinary action. Education of Health Professional students at College needs teamwork between the college and clinical group. Education of many of these students cannot be comprehensive without an excellence clinical education component, usually referred to as a clinical replacement.
College wishes to make certain that the health and protection of students and patients are not conciliated and those clinical affiliation agreements exist to give students with superiority clinical education experiences. Therefore, it is the policy of College that students enrolling in Allied Health courses counting, but not narrow to, Clinical Laboratory Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Phlebotomy, and Surgical Technology, submit to drug testing. This guideline only authorizes to pass a drug test for students who freely select to register in Allied Health Department courses that want clinical rotations.
Anyway to pass drug test the student must give written approval to provide sample for the purpose of examination. If the student is under eighteen years of age, the student’s parent or legal guardian must sign the drug testing permission form along with the student. The signed consent must be returned to the program director or course instructor. The signed approval form will be kept in the student eternal record. Students have the right to decline to approval to drug testing. Though, students who decline will be refused contact to clinical education facilities and will be incapable to attain the necessary clinical knowledge. Negative response to present to drug testing will render the student incapable to meet the clinical rotation prerequisite of the Allied Health program or lessons.
